Sunshine KidsIn March 2006, a core group of Prudential Americana sales executives attending the annual Prudential Real Estate Affiliates (PREA) national convention in San Antonio, were inspired to take action and set a company goal to become a top 10 charitable contributor to the Sunshine Kids Foundation.  The Sunshine Kids Foundation is an organization that supports children with cancer.

The 2006 Sunshine Kids committee was formed and Bob Sweeney & Barbara Zucker were appointed as co-chairpersons.  The agent-driven committee spearheaded a variety of activities and events including raffles, garage sales, bake sales, and donations from staff and agents, many who donated an amount for every closed sale they had for the year. The 2006 SK golf tournament contributed over $23,000. The fund-raising drive culminated in a holiday party which raised over $27,000 from a raffle and silent auction.

The company reached their goal and collected $177,992.00 in only 6 months! Prudential Americana will be recognized as the 4th largest contributor to the Sunshine Kids in the Prudential Network.  The award will be presented at the Sunshine Kids event, Tuesday, March 20th at the 2007 Annual PREA Convention in San Diego.

PREA adopted The Sunshine Kids Foundation as a network-wide charity in the spring of 1991. The mission of the Sunshine Kids Foundation is to add quality of life to children with cancer by providing them with exciting, positive group activities, so they may once again do what kids are supposed to do . . . have fun and celebrate life!
